Stones with this incredible "asterism" effect that make them "star" stones are hard to phtograph in my studio lights because my lights have soft white covers over the bulbs to soften them so they don't reflect in the all of the stones I'm trying to photograph. On Instagram and Facebook for the post of this piece, I took a video in normal room lighting- when there's a direct light source, these "star" stones come to life as the light dances across the surface of the stone in a star pattern.
It just felt super appropriate for this quote from Ram Dass - the stone feels like it's holding a magical bit of light within it.
