Sometimes I question if I should make "dark" pieces - Phish's Dirt is a song about death. But through navigating my own relationship with grief, I found the piece I created for myself with this lyric in particular was really comforting. Something to wear, hold, direct thoughts to when you can't pick up the phone and direct them to those you've lost.
This one has a black sunstone, framed with a .999 fine silver bezel that has a real leaf imprint embossed into it. I took a leaf that I pressed and dried, and rolled it through my mill with the fine silver strip to give it that real organic texture directly from the leaf. The rest is of the piece is all .925 sterling silver, including the chain. The stone is very dark and muted, but when the light hits it it has a gorgeous golden shine that comes to life.
The stone has a shadowbox style frame, with the inner portion darkened with patina and given a fine stippling texture. The backplate is hand-stamped letter by letter with lyrics "shout your name into the wind" and "kiss the earth", with a dandelion blowing up into the wind and forget-me-nots below.
The pendant comes on an 18" sterling silver rounded box chain, and also comes with an anti-tarnish pouch for storing and Sunshine brand polishing cloth to keep it bright and beautiful.
