ABOUT Mixed media artist Jennalee Cook’s life represents a fusion of art and music. Her father, security director for some of the biggest names in rock and roll, collected tour passes and memorabilia for his daughter, and these became the inspiration for some of her earliest mixed media work. Later, she took to the road herself, touring the country following her favorite band. They provided drum sticks, ticket stubs, guitar strings, picks, handwritten setlists – and gave her an official vending spot right beside the band merch. Jennalee incorporated song lyrics, transforming these relics into compelling, memorable, custom art and jewelry. Returning to Columbus, Jennalee worked for major, international promoters at Nationwide Arena and The Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center and Ohio Stadium, providing production assistance and artist hospitality – including outfitting artists’ green rooms with custom art and furniture. Through these relationships, she has been commissioned by both Columbus, OH arenas to create gift baskets for every tour that comes to the capitol city using memorabilia and hand-stamped metals. Her work has been gifted to tours ranging from Elton John, Twenty-One Pilots, and Radiohead, consisting of thoughtfully curated to items they could use and travel with on the road. Light-up side tables made from drums; old cassette tapes shaped with a band saw and sealed under resin; lyrics hand-lettered over gold calligraphy; hand-stamped metal jewelry - her passion for exploring new ideas and mediums and connecting them to song is the common thread through her diverse portfolio. Jennalee is available for contracting with music festivals and events for art and hospitality, as well as custom commissions in addition to her popular online store.
